About me

Three Pillars of Health

If you ask me, health and optimal performance are an excellent foundation for success in any domain. Probably the best thing about this foundation is that it is almost entirely in our hands to shape it the way we like.

I think that health and optimal performance are based on three pillars:

This philosophy is based on several years of experience in coaching people in the field fitness as well as my almost fanatical enthusiasm for personal development and applied psychology. That is also the reasoning behind this website’s structure and content.

I went through a period of serious emotional instability where I cracked under the pressure of life and allowed myself to become an absolute pig. What does absolute pig mean? A 172 cm tall man weighing 105 kg. Obviously, this state was not sustainable nor acceptable so I decided to get back into shape, the right way. As with every other endeavor in my life, I approached this in the most extreme way possible – I became a qualified nutrition guidance counsellor (think coach for dieting). During the education process, I quickly realized how poorly informed the general population is and that people simply do not know who to trust. Questions like which diet is the best, what is healthy eating, which foods are healthy and why are always relevant and people are overloaded by contradictory information. Truth be told, understanding this topic properly requires years and years of learning and practice and a high command of the English language simply due to the fact that most of the highest quality information is available in English. Luckily for us, managing this aspect of our lives does not demand that big of an investment. You do not have to invest years of your life and years of effort in order to understand the concepts sufficiently in order to be able to apply them. The goal of all of my texts on this topic will be to present the information in digestible bits (sorry for the pun) to the average person. After reading texts here, you will immediately be enriched with knowledge that can be applied, whether it is avoiding scams and lies, saving money by not purchasing unproven products or taking concrete, actionable advice on how to eat healthy. I will, of course, leave room for texts that address frequently asked questions or those that tackle a very popular topic in the field of nutrition.

Exercise is one of, if not the best thing you can do for your body AND for your mind. In terms of my experience, I did not only opt for a certificate in nutrition, I also got certified as a bodybuilding coach. In short, I am educated in the field of body composition which means that I can help you lose fat and gain muscle. In terms of practical experience, I’ve got nearly a decade of lifting experience, two thirds of which have been casual and recreational while the remaining third (the most recent period) has been planned, executed and monitored with great focus placed on adequate application all of the experience and scientific principles. That being said, I cannot claim to be an expert on all types of physical activity, I am far from that which is why most of my texts in this segment will revolve around training in the gym. If that’s not your cup of tea, feel free to skip these.

Unlike the first two pillars, mental health and personal development is a topic I am personally interested in but I am by no means a professional or an expert. In fact, I have a whole host of issues I am yet to solve in my own life, but because of the burning enthusiasm I have for this topic I am occasionally going to publish texts that can help you with enhancing the quality of your sleep and recovery, maybe give you a bit of motivation and discipline or ways to work on self-confidence and mood. Ultimately, it is these tiny details that help us become A Tiny Bit Better.
